We buy, prep, and cook everything ourselves at our own newly built 2000 square foot facility in Mississauga, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. We use high sunflower oils, and we don’t use any colouring, additives, preservatives or chemicals.
We offer up to two weeks of new meals for all our diet choices, including free of gluten and dairy, and vegan. This way, you can enjoy exciting, new dishes every day, and won’t get tired of seeing the same old stuff day in, day out. We work to refresh our menu every 2-3 months, while substituting certain dishes and bringing in new ones, all thanks to your valued feedback.
We do not offer a-la-carte ordering, but we do offer two completely different week-long menus of food, so you can eat interesting and tasty recipes while being healthy and full of energy. Each weekly meal set can be ordered in either the original option, free of gluten and dairy, or vegan, allowing you to seamlessly move between and try new recipes and diets.
Yes, you can. Just remember, your body's nutritional needs vary throughout the day, so we recommend sticking to our suggested plan for even better results.
Recipes in our Free of Gluten and Dairy menus do not contain gluten or dairy ingredients, and we do not use gluten and dairy ingredients to cook any of our products; However, please note that we are not a certified Gluten free facility, and not all of our suppliers, are certified gluten free themselves.
No, we’ve done all the work for you! All you have to do is eat and enjoy! Our licensed nutritionist has meticulously crafted each meal to be perfect for starting a healthy active lifestyle and getting great results.
For our Original and Free of Gluten and Dairy diets, we use chicken, beef, and turkey, as well as different types of fish like Salmon and Cod, ensuring you are getting a wide range of micronutrients, while eating different, tasty proteins every day. For our Vegan options, we cook with a variety of different vegetable proteins. You can expect a lot more than just tofu for our proteins.
We use natural sunflower oil, as it is a healthier option than other heavier oils. Most of our meals are steamed or steam fried. We don’t deep fry anything.
Yes, each of our meals has a balanced sodium level, giving you under 2300 MG of sodium per day, which is the RDA official recommendation. Average Canadians consume over 3000 MG of sodium per day, which is well above the recommended amount. Our meals are guaranteed to provide you with much less sodium for the whole day. Also, we only use natural sea salt, which is healthier and richer in micronutrients.
Yes! One of our important goals here is to prove that a vegan diet can give you loads of energy, strength, and fill your body’s daily needs, so you can achieve your goals. Be it simply eating healthy, slimming down, or building muscle and strength through your workout, our Vegan meals will provide you with everything you need. Vegan doesn’t mean skinny and weak! Even pro athletes are now eating vegan diets for either most of the year or for their entire diet- so why not give it a try?
That’s fine with us, as long as it's all right with you. Our courier will leave the order in front of your door. HOWEVER, if you live in a condo or apartment building with security or a concierge, please note that you must be home to receive the courier or arrange for someone to be home. Most concierge services follow strict security policies that prohibit private couriers from leaving packages at your door. If you cannot be home during delivery, choosing a Penguin Pick up location near you may be your best option. Internally, we will have confirmation and proof that your order has been dropped off by the courier.

You can order our meal sets from our website www.activeats.ca. You can pay for your order using Credit Card, Visa Debit, or PayPal.
We offer 2 easy delivery methods: either direct delivery to your home or workplace, or to a nearby Penguin Pick-up location. For Direct Deliveries, we deliver your orders every Sunday from 10am-3 pm and Wednesdays from 3pm till 8 pm. To receive your food on Sunday, all orders must be placed before Wednesday at Midnight prior to that Sunday, and to receive your food on Wednesday, all orders must be placed before Saturday at midnight prior to that Wednesday. In other words, every Wednesday at midnight is the cutoff for that Sunday’s delivery, and every Saturday at midnight is the cut-off for the coming Wednesday’s deliveries. If you choose to go with Penguin Self Pick-up, we will deliver your order to the penguin pick-up you choose, and you will be notified by them, through email that your food is ready for pick-up. Penguin pick-ups operate at different hours, and have different schedules, but you will be notified that your food is ready for pick-up on Monday between 10am-7 pm.
Penguin Pick-Up is a well established company, with over 70 pick-up locations across Canada that offers customers the option to pick up their online orders themselves, saving on delivery costs. Each Penguin Pick-Up location we use has full refrigeration capabilities, ensuring your order is fresh and safe, till you pick it up. If you choose this option, upon checking out you will select a location that is most convenient for you, and your food will be there waiting for you on Monday. You will also receive a barcode in your order confirmation email from Penguin Pick-Up. All you have to do is to stop by your selected location, show the barcode and your ID (for security reasons), and your order will be handed to you by the friendly staff at the location.
Each meal is sealed with a special film, then placed in an insulated box, along with the other meals and with ice packs to guarantee your food stays fresh and tasty even during delivery. The entire packaging process happens in our own facility, under our strict supervision. We have a partnership with a courier service to deliver your food, either to a Penguin Pick-up location near you or door-to-door where you want them.
Yes, in your cart page, each meal set you have added to your order has a default delivery date and calendar with the other possible delivery days from which you can choose. Simply choose a delivery day for each package.
Our meals are specially sealed, designed to be kept cold, refrigerated at standard home refrigeration temperature. This allows our meals to stay fresh for just over a week’s time. To ensure the highest standards of safety, each of our meals is stamped with a “Best Before” date, so you can clearly understand how long you can store your meals before they expire. We recommend that you store your meals in a refrigerator and eat them before their expiration date specified on each meal.
You do not need to cook any of our meals; they come fully-cooked, ready to eat and enjoy! Our meals are portioned in special containers that are both safe to use in a conventional oven and a microwave. Simply heat and enjoy!
You don’t need to buy anything extra to enjoy our meal - just a cutlery set. Our containers are high quality, BPA-free, so you can easily eat the meals directly from the containers and avoid doing the dishes. You can also choose to use a plate instead if you wish.
Because our meals come in sealed containers, you can easily take them with you to work or wherever you go. However, for lengthy amounts of time, it’s better that you keep the meals refrigerated so they stay fresh until they reach their expiration date.
It all depends on your taste preferences. If you prefer, you don’t have to heat any of our meals, because they are fully-cooked. Some meals are even suggested to be eaten cold, while others we recommend to be heated for better taste and texture.

A subscription is something you sign up for in order to forget about re-ordering and having to remember to re-order your product of choice every week. It also offers an ongoing 5% discount.
To subscribe, you will need to select the subscription option, available in each product page, on the right hand side near the product price. To subscribe and save, you will need to select that option by clicking on the empty circle just to the left of the words “Subscribe and save 5%”. This will automatically reduce your product total price by 5%, and will log your payment method, to be charged automatically, each week at the same time you placed your first payment.

You can unsubscribe at any time after your placed your first order. Once you do so, you will not be charged on your next scheduled payment. In order to unsubscribe, you will need to login to your personal cabinet, select my subscription, and hit unsubscribe. You will get an email confirmation that you have unsubscribed.
You will receive the same product you have subscribed for, on a weekly basis, one week after your first delivery. So for example, if you select Sunday as your preferred delivery date, you will always have your product delivered on Sundays, and if you selected Wednesday, then you will receive your subscription product every Wednesday.
We use Stripe to process credit card payments and accept PayPal as a payment method. Once you put your first payment through, the system will automatically log the information, and you will be charged the same exact day and time, a week from your first payment. You will be charged for the same amount and for the same product you ordered previously.
You cannot change the product you are subscribed for, or, add products to an existing subscription.
Yes, you can easily pause your subscription for a maximum of 6 months. To pause your subscription, you need to open your personal cabinet through your login, and manually select, pause subscription. Your payment method will not be charged while you have paused the subscription. To cease the pause, and return to getting your weekly product, you need to login to your personal cabinet, and un-pause subscription from there.
Our menus alternate weekly to ensure you’re not eating the same meals every week. Similarly with subscription, if you receive menu A this week, you will receive menu B next week and vice versa.
